Designed to accommodate vibration the EPDM D Type single sphere expansion joint is suitable for hot and cold water, LTHW and primary systems
Tied units are designed to stop the bellows from elongating and prevent the pressure thrust being transmitted onto the pumps and associated pipework
If there are high levels of vibration/ pressure at the pumps location then it is advised that tied expansion bellows are used and were working pressures are over 10BarG then tied units are required regardless of fixing points in the pipeline
