Hydrosnakeis a revolutionary flood protection product designed to shield homes and businesses against excessive flood water as a result of flash floods, heavy rain and burst river banks.

How to use Hydrosnakes

Hydrosnakes protect against flooding by forming an elongated protective barrier to retain or divert floodwater over stretched areas of ground. Before deployment simply soak the hydrosnake in water for up to 3 minutes and watch it inflate. This water crystallises and will be retained for up to 3 months. The hydrosnake will let water in but not let water out.

Easily lift to the required place and form an absorbent barrier against flood water. For superior results and increased protection, multiple hydrosnakes can be stacked next to one another. The unique 3 section length structure of the hydrosnake allows a long barrier to be created.

After flood water subsides the contents of the eco-friendly hydrosnakes can be deposited into soil without any harmful effects to the environment.

The Benefits of Hydrosnakes vs Sandbags

Hydrosnakes are a non-toxic and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional sandbags which can be less effective and difficult to handle and store due to their heavy weight and bulk. Sandbags can also leak water and store toxins from flood water that can be hazardous to health.

Alternatively, hydrosnakes are quick and easy to deploy, weighing around 10% of the weight of a sandbag before use and can be easily stored in bulk until they are needed. Simply soaking the hydrosnake in water for around 3 minutes will make it ready to be used as a barrier to flood water. Containing pulp and a super-absorbent polymer (SAP) they are capable of absorbing 15-20 litres of water, which then crystallises to help the hydrosnake expand to be used as a barrier. They will retain this water for up to 3 months. After use the hydrosnake can be drained of its contents into soil without any harmful environmental effects as they do not absorb the waste, sewage and toxins from flood water.
