Ball Retaining Valves

About ball retaining valves

Ball retaining valves enable liquid to flow in one direction while preventing it from flowing back, using a ball mechanism inside the valve itself. The ball stops the liquid from flowing back through the valve by sealing it if the flow reverses. This type of component has many industrial and commercial uses, and is often used in pump systems. There are two types of ball retaining valves, threaded and flanged.

Threaded ball retaining valves
These are valves that are designed to screw directly onto the end of threaded pipe fittings. They are quick and easy to install and are ideal for small pumps and lower pressure systems.

Flanged ball retaining valves
These are valves with a flange on each end that need to be bolted to the corresponding flanges on the pipes. This kind of connection is strong and secure, which makes this kind of valve suitable for larger pump systems or where higher pressure liquid is involved.
